Answers to the most common questions about UniVoxx cloud VoIP phone systems, from senior care and skilled nursing facilities to multi-site businesses across all 50 states.
UniVoxx is an enterprise VoIP phone system built in-house and serving organizations in all 50 states. Not a reseller, not a rebrand. The platform runs in cloud-hosted enterprise-grade data centers and connects through multiple Tier-1 carriers. Senior care and skilled nursing are our flagship, and we support operations of every kind that can't afford to miss a call.
A cloud VoIP business phone system carries calls over your internet connection instead of traditional copper lines, with no phone closet to maintain. Desk phones, softphones, paging equipment, and fax devices connect to a hosted platform that we manage, monitor, and update for you. You get enterprise features like auto attendants, smart call routing, voicemail-to-email, and call reporting without owning a rack of hardware. Explore the full phone system.
No. Senior care VoIP and skilled nursing phone systems are where we've built our deepest expertise, but UniVoxx also serves medical offices, multi-site operators, hospitality, and growing businesses in every industry. If missed calls cost you money or trust, the platform fits.
A nursing home phone system carries admissions calls, family calls, physician callbacks, and daily operations. UniVoxx pairs healthcare VoIP with proactive monitoring by a U.S.-based team, facility dashboards, EMR-connected call routing, overhead paging, and eFax. One platform, one vendor, built for care environments, from a single community to a multi-facility portfolio. New to the category? Start with our nursing home phone system buyer's guide.
Yes. UniVoxx offers live EMR-connected call routing through our PointClickCare Marketplace integration, so your team can know who's calling before they pick up. More EMR integrations are coming soon. Ask us to walk through the integration during your demo.
Our team and platform watch every location and every essential device, every minute. If a handset drops offline on a busy morning, the cause is usually isolated in seconds: when the rest of the facility is still online, it points to a single-device issue, like an unplugged phone. An alert is raised to the people you choose, through SMS or email channels, with the exact location and the likely fix. We also flag 911 call spikes and missed-call surge warnings. Most vendors find out something broke when you call to complain. We catch problems before you do.
UniVoxx provides 911 call tracking with per-facility visibility. When unusual emergency-call patterns appear, an alert is raised to the system administrators you designate, so leadership hears it from us first, not from a family member or a surveyor. See it in the Facility Dashboard.
UniVoxx runs alongside your nurse call system without interfering with it, and your nurse call vendor keeps servicing their equipment. We don't sell, service, or integrate nurse call platforms ourselves. If you're evaluating a specific setup, ask us and we'll tell you plainly what works.
Desk phones, WiFi portables for staff on the move, overhead paging adapters and analog overhead zones, door intercoms, fax ATAs, resident gateways, eFax mailboxes, and softphones for mobile and desktop. Every device on the system is configured, monitored, and supported by us.
Yes. UniVoxx apps run on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows, so staff and administrators can make and take calls on their business line from anywhere. The apps also act as a reachability layer: even if a desk phone is down, the person isn't. Learn more about the phone system.
Yes. UniVoxx eFax sends and receives faxes through a secure cloud mailbox: no machine, no toner, no busy signal. Referrals, orders, and records arrive as documents your team can view, search, and forward. Where a physical machine still makes sense, traditional fax lines run through supported fax ATAs.
Yes. Overhead paging adapters and analog overhead zones integrate directly with the phone system, so staff can page from any handset. Door intercoms tie into the same platform, so the front entrance rings the phones you choose.
Yes. Call recording is available as an add-on for the lines you choose. Ask us about it during your demo and we'll include it in your proposal.
Yes. The Facility Dashboard puts every facility on one screen: device health, call volumes, answer rates, and alerts across your whole portfolio in real time. Regional and corporate teams see every building without calling each one.
Yes. Hold Music Studio gives you custom on-hold audio with studio voices, so callers hear your community's story instead of a default loop. Greetings, menus, and after-hours messages are all tailored to your operation.
UniVoxx delivers 99.999% uptime. The platform runs in cloud-hosted enterprise-grade data centers and connects through multiple Tier-1 carriers, so no single point of failure sits between your callers and your team.
This is engineered away before go-live. Most facilities already run generators and backup internet, and during setup we work directly with your IT team so phones fail over to the backup connection instantly and automatically. On top of that, the UniVoxx apps and softphones keep staff reachable on any connection, including cellular. Layers on layers: the goal is that an outage is something you read about in a report, not something your callers experience.
Less than you'd think. Voice traffic is tiny: generally 1 to 2 Mbps is plenty. What matters is latency, not bandwidth, so during setup we work with your IT team to have your firewall and router prioritize voice traffic. Facilities almost never need to upgrade their internet to run UniVoxx.
Your team stays reachable through the UniVoxx apps for macOS, Windows, Android, and iOS, which keep working even when a desk phone is down. If the apps aren't in use, offline call forwarding takes over automatically: calls to a downed phone forward to the destination you choose, so nothing is missed while the fix is on the way. Critical-Line Alerting watches the lines you designate as essential, and if one drops offline an alert is raised right away to the people you choose. In most cases our monitoring has already spotted the issue before anyone on-site notices.
24/7 support that picks up: average answer time is 9.2 seconds, with under 15 minute response. When you call, a team member answers. No offshore queue, no chatbot maze. Most problems get solved remotely in minutes, and if on-site help is needed, we're there. Service isn't a tier we charge extra for. It's the product. Read the UniVoxx Promise.
UniVoxx is priced per phone, per month, so your bill matches your building instead of a one-size rate card. A typical 100-bed facility runs between $500 and $1,000 per month, depending on how many phones you need and whether residents have their own lines. Equipment, installation, and support are included in the service agreement, not sold as add-ons. Book a demo and we'll follow up with a proposal scoped to your exact device count.
Yes. A service agreement is what lets us include your phones, installation, and support at no upfront cost instead of billing them as line items. You get a fully installed, fully supported system from day one; the agreement is how the math works.
Yes. We sign Business Associate Agreements with covered entities as standard practice. Your compliance team gets the paperwork before your phones carry the traffic.
Yes. Your existing phone and fax numbers move with you. We handle the number porting process and coordinate the cutover, so your callers never have to learn a new number.
Cutover is planned around what can't go quiet. Your essential lines, like the main number, admissions, and nurse stations, are moved with minimal interruption: typically seconds to a few minutes. Resident room lines are scheduled in waves after the essential lines are live. Our team coordinates the whole port and cutover, and we work around care routines, so most buildings describe go-live as a non-event.
Book a 20-minute demo or call (800) 626-8187. We'll walk through the platform live, scope your locations and devices, and follow up with a proposal built for your operation. From there we handle provisioning, installation, and training.
Yes. UniVoxx has partnership offerings for MSPs and resellers. Bring voice to your clients and keep the relationship: we handle the platform, proactive monitoring, and 24/7 support behind you. If you're an MSP or reseller, reach out and we'll walk you through the program.
